Charitable contributions of all types are deeply appreciated and enable the JCC on the Palisades to sustain an extensive variety of activities and services. A wide range of philanthropic opportunities exist and gifts may be tailored to meet your specific interests - including Nursery School Scholarships, Special Services, Senior Adult Services, Jewish Studies, and Health and Recreation services, to name a few.
On a confidential basis and without obligation, staff at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades are readily available to help you explore giving opportunities and select the type of gift arrangement best suited to your situation.
Types of Gifts:
Personal endowment funds enable us to be creative, be experimental, be innovative, and to be responsive to community needs. Endowment gifts may be made to honor the memory of a loved one or pay tribute to a family member or friend on a special occasion, recognize the achievements of a child or grandchild, meet the philanthropic goals of a family foundation, or for any other purpose consistent with your philanthropic needs. A complete list of endowment funds already established at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades is available upon request.
Charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, gifts of securities, or bequests may also be made to the JCC on the Palisades. The JCC on the Palisades is designated as the beneficiary of the gift, and the funds are managed through the development office of UJA Federation of Bergen County and North Hudson.
Charitable gifts to the JCC on the Palisades may either be "current" or "deferred," and "unrestricted" or "restricted." These categories and the more common types of gifts they include are defined below.
A current gift is any gift transferred immediately from you, the donor, to the JCC on the Palisades. Taxpayers who itemize their deductions may take advantage of this giving and tax planning option. They include the outright transfer of cash, real estate, securities, tangible or intangible personal property, or insurance.
Deferred gifts include bequests through a will and life income agreements, such as charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts.
Unrestricted gifts are especially valuable to the JCC on the Palisades because they support ongoing programming and activities not entirely funded through other sources.
Restricted gifts benefit specific programs chosen by you, the donor. Funds may be designated for any of the JCC on the Palisades' activities of particular interest to you. They include, but are not limited to, such areas as scholarships, nursery school faculty enrichment, support services for the frail elderly, transportation for senior citizens, and enhancement of grounds and facilities.
By making a bequest to the JCC on the Palisades you leave a legacy to future generations that will have a lasting impact on the community. You may name the JCC on the Palisades as a beneficiary in your will. Consult your attorney to make this change.
Numerous opportunities are also available to dedicate physical facilities, such as rooms and common areas, at our JCC.
