On Our Own Summer Program

Ages 15-30, June 24- August 2, 2013, 9:30 am-3:30 pm

This special six-week life skills vocational and recreational program is designed for teens and young adults ages 15-30 with a variety of special needs including autism spectrum disorder, varied communication and learning differences, moderate cognitive/intellectual challenges and developmental disabilities. Participants shiould have sufficient communication and self-help skills to independently participate with a 1:3 staffing ratio.  On Our Own is not appropriate for fir individuals requiring 1:1 supervision. 

ON OUR OWN includes work experience within the JCC and at community based organizations, life skills, vocational training, academic enrichment, swimming, yoga, art, music, dance, cooking, computers, social skills training, weekly trips into the community, and more!

Intake interview required. JCC membership is not required for this program.

Door-to-door transportation is available within a 15 mile radius in Bergen County ONLY.

On Our Own accepts payment from approved DDD and other Social Services Agency Providers and sending SCHOOL DISTRICTS. Scholarships/financial aid is available on an as needed basis.
