JCC Teen Philanthropy Institute

What if Someone Gave you $5,000 to Help Fix the World?


Team up with other teens to make a difference in the world and gain valuable skills that will prepare you to become an effective leader, problem-solver, consensus-builder and philanthropist who "lives" and embaces Jewish values. Serve on a grant-making board, meet with fundraising experts and give with a sense of excitement and purpose to charities of your choice. Includes an end-of-program banquet planned by your goup. Limited to 20 post Bar/Bat Mitzvah teens in grades 8-10.


Dates are subject to change.Year 1 meets from 1:00-3:00pm and Year 2 meets from 3:00-5:00pm.


Registration fee per year: $150/$180 + $250 donation for allocation.  Donation is due at a future session.

Commit Fellowship

The Commit Fellowship offers teens in grades 10-12 the opportunity to design and execute their own social action project that fights a major social injustice such as hunger, poverty, homelessness or illiteracy. Participants will spend January-May working on these projects, meeting monthly with a mentor and attending exciting and interactive programs where they will further explore these issues. This program provides innovative and caring teens with a real chance to make an impact in their community and commit to an issue that is important to them. Limited space available. Service hours will be provided.

Teen Mission: Panim el Panim Seminar

Travel with teens from throughout New Jersey to Washington, DC for a three-day Panim el Panim Seminar where you will have an opportunity to volunteer, meet teens from across the country and discuss important topics that affect you and the community at large. The Seminar will culminate with a trip to Capitol Hill to lobby state representatives about the issues that matter most to you. 


Additional discounts available for teens currently enrolled in the JCC Teen Department programs.

Letters for excused absence will be provided.

Middle School Teen Leadership Conference

Middle School Students from all over Bergen County will discuss bullying and action steps they can take to stand up to it. This one-day conference allows students to work together as a team to tackle this important topic and bring ideas back to their schools.

High School Teen Leadership Conference
