The Sleeping Beauty by Benjamin P. Wenzelberg

A New Opera for Family Audiences

Fifteen-year-old JCC Performing Arts Student, Benjamin Wenzelberg, performs his award winning, full-length opera--for the first time in its entirety--at the JCC! This special event features a cast of extraordinary professional singers, as well as young professionals from the JCC School of Performing Arts, who will sing in the chorus.

The Sleeping Beauty has won a 2014 ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Award and their Charlotte V. Bergen Scholarship. This opera has been performed, in part, at the Chelsea Opera Company NYC.

The Old Man will be played by baritone John Hancock who was seen as Count Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro at The Metropolitan Opera and The Frog will be played by soprano, Benjy Wenzelberg, the composer.

All proceeds will benefit the JCC School of Performing Arts and cultural arts and music in Tenafly Public Schools.
