Heart Health Month

February is Heart Health Month

Join us this February as we shine a spotlight on heart health! Heart disease remains the leading cause of death for men and women, but the good news is that small changes can make a big difference in keeping your heart healthy.

FREE BLOOD PRESSURE TESTS!

Visit the desks in either of our fitness centers all month long for a FREE blood pressure test. This is the first step in measuring the health of your heart, and we want to support you on this journey!

Celebrate National Wear Red Day

Mark your calendar for National Wear Red Day on February 7th! Wear red with us to raise awareness about heart health and support the fight against heart disease. Whether you’re at work, school, or home, your red outfit will help inspire others to take their heart health seriously.

Tips for Keeping Your Heart Healthy

Taking care of your heart doesn’t have to be complicated. Here are some simple, practical tips to improve your heart health:

  • Eat a Heart-Healthy Diet: Focus on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and healthy fats. Limit sodium, added sugars, and trans fats.
  • Stay Active: Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise each week, like walking, swimming, or cycling.
  • Manage Stress: Practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, yoga, or meditation to keep stress in check.
  • Know Your Numbers: Regularly monitor your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and blood sugar to stay informed about your health.
  • Quit Smoking: If you smoke, take steps to quit. It’s one of the most significant ways to reduce your risk of heart disease.
  • Get Enough Sleep: Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night to give your heart the rest it needs.

Spread the Word

Together, we can create a wave of heart health awareness. Share your red look on social media using #HeartHealthMonth and #WearRedDay, and encourage your friends and family to join the movement.

This February, let’s commit to taking care of our hearts and supporting each other on the path to a healthier future.
