The JCC Thurnauer School of Music is delighted to announce “Klezmer Jam!,” an engaging workshop and concert featuring renowned clarinetist Alex Kontorovich and the Bessarabian Brass Band. Join us for a vibrant exploration of Klezmer music, an enriching experience designed for participants of all ages.  

Bring your family and your intermediate-level or higher instruments to dive into the soulful rhythms and melodies of this traditional Jewish music. Engage in learning and performing with fellow musicians in a supportive, community-focused setting. The afternoon will culminate in a special performance by the acclaimed Alex Kontorovich and the Bessarabian Brass Band, showcasing their unique blend of energy and artistry. Event Details: 

• Date: Sunday, September 15 

• Time: 4:00–6:00 pm 

• 4:00–4:45 pm: Workshop led by world-renowned klezmer clarinetist Alex Kontorovich 

• 5:00–6:00 pm: Concert featuring Kontorovich’s Bessarabian Brass Band 

• Location: Kaplen JCC on the Palisades, 411 E. Clinton Ave., Tenafly, NJ 07670 

• Cost: $10 per family
