“Tiul BeEretz HaOtiot” (“Trip around the letters”)

This program is intended for kindergarten Hebrew speakers and is the beginning of the child’s journey in acquiring Hebrew reading and writing skills. Throughout the year, we will focus primarily on two areas- experimental familiarity with the letters and their sounds and shapes and the year’s holidays and experiences which make up the Israeli culture.

This program meets for a weekly 75-minute classe for a total of 32 times a year on Wednesdays between 4:45-6:00 OR on Thursdays between 4:00-5:15.

Grades 1-2 “Beginner Readers and Writers”

In grades 1-2 the children acquire in depth the reading and writing skills through the program “Kessem and Friends” that is endorsed by the Ministry of Education and is utilized in many schools throughout Israel. The complete program is a two-year process but after only a few months we are excited to hear and see the children reading short stories and writing in script. 

In addition to these new skills, we deepen the conversation in Hebrew and expand the vocabulary. The children, also, learn the yearly cycle of holidays and celebrations through crafts, games and play. 

This program is intended for Hebrew speakers going into 1-3 grades but do not yet know how to read and write.

Grade 1– This year we teach the sounds and rules of each letter, part of the punctuation and when and how to use them. 

This program meets for 75-minute classes for a total of 32 times a year on Wednesdays   between the hours 4:00-5:15 OR Thursdays Between the hours 4:45-6:00.

Grade 2

This year we continue with additional vowels and punctuation and focus reading fluency and precision in reading and writing.
