Youth Fitness Certification Program
Our Youth Fitness Certification is BACK!
Now is your chance to join a certified group of teens who can successfully and confidently use Sadinoff Fitness Cetner! This hands-on course trains how to use the gym safely and effectively. Perfect for beginners ready to start their fitness journey!
Curriculum Focus:
- Proper Use of the Gym and the Equipment: From treadmills to weights, master it all including proper weight room etiquette!
- Workout Basics: Work on proper form and build strength, endurance, and flexibility with guidance from our Master Trainer, James Dong with assistance from Trainer Alex Rodriguez
- Safety First: Understand the dos and don’ts to prevent injuries
- Make it a Lifestyle: Learn basic nutrition and how to create simple fitness programs
- Confidence Building: Feel empowered and ready to achieve your fitness goals
Program Highlights:
- Certified trainers and small class sizes for personalized attention.
- Fun, interactive sessions with a focus on teamwork and motivation.
- Completion certificate for all participants!
Who Can Join?
Teens ages 11-13, no prior experience required.

- Dates: Starting: March 21: Fridays from 3:30 – 4:30 PM
- Location: Sadinoff Fitness Center
- Fee: $199 for 10 Classes
*Must attend at least 8 of the 10 sessions for successful certification completion.

Meet Your Master Trainer, James Dong!

James is a Master Trainer at the J, having been here (with a brief hiatus) for over a decade. His many certifications include integrative movement and biomechanics and various mentorship programs, making him the perfect trainer to take on this very special new offering. He works hard to effectively understand and meet each client’s individual needs. He believes in functional and long-term approaches to training by focusing on posture and movement patterns to optimize body mechanics.
James led a Youth Training program here at the J years ago, which fellow trainer Alex Rodriguez was a participant in. Alex was so inspired by everything he learned, he pursued a career in fitness. Now, as a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Alex is working towards his Associates Degree in General Science. Alex is proud to assist James in our updated Youth Training Certification program and hopefully pass on the love for physical fitness that James gave to him years ago!
*Participants MUST attend at least 8 of the 10 sessions for successful completion of the certification. Certification grants 11-13 year old members permission to workout in Sadinoff Fitness Center WITH adult supervision. 14+ years old will be allowed to workout independently.
