Victor Daniel Merchan

Victor D. Merchan was born in Venezuela and started music lessons and classes at the age of 6, as a participant in Venezuela’s renowned “El Sistema” program. He studied music at the Simon Bolivar National Conservatory and the Music School Miguel Angel Espinel in San Cristobal, Venezuela. Victor has performed as a percussionist in many orchestras in Venezuela and New Jersey, and his powerful and formative experience growing up in Venezuela in the El Sistema program taught him that “Music can promote peace and unity and he hopes to inspire others to find similar joys through music as he has”

Victor likes to make connections to help the community. He is member of Rotary of Englewood.

Victor immigrated to the United States in 2021 and lives with his grandmother, mother, aunt and two younger brothers.
